Nicki Minaj graces the latest cover of Nylon and opens up about her long-awaited follow-up to her 2014 album, The Pinkprint. “I needed time to hear myself think again, because where I left off with The Pinkprint was a little bit emotionally unstable…Now, I want my happiness to be reflected in the new stuff.” Of course, Nicki talks about how boyfriend and frequently rumored fiancé, Meek Mill, is a huge source of happiness in her life. “I’m not engaged yet…We’re just taking it one step at a time. And, you know, if that happens, if I get married, then I’ll have a child, and that’ll be fun, because I can’t wait to hold my baby.” Although, she does say that Meek sometimes does call her his fiancé. "I'm always trying to stop him, like, 'Nope! I ain't got that third ring yet!'" Meanwhile, Nicki is sticking by Meek in his time of need, as he is currently under house arrest for violating probation.

The interview focuses on Nicki's latest huge project: a TV sitcom for Freeform based on her life that she is executive producing. She hopes that this new project will give her fans a bigger picture of who she is. "I want people to know that I have a brain. I want people to know, when they see my name, that I'm fully part of it." Nicki handpicked the sitcom's star, 11-year-old Ariana Neal, who she wants everyone to respect as an artist when they see her on the show because, "I've never seen a little girl rapping on scripted TV." Nicki also has a huge role in the upcoming movie, Barbershop: The Next Cut. As she puts it, she is doing what she set out to do in high school and succeed as an actress.
