TMZ is reporting that Kesha has lost her appeal for an injunction, and thus won't be released from her contract with Sony. According to the report, the judge strongly sided with Sony and Dr. Luke. Over the past year and a half, Kesha has been in an intense legal battle with the label over its handling of her relationship with Luke, who she has accused of sexual assault and battery. Just recently, Kesha claimed that she was offered her "freedom" from the label if she retracted the rape allegations against Luke.
"THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS behind closed doors," Kesha wrote on her Instagram over the weekend. During the hearing today, the judge reportedly said Kesha was "unreasonable" for not taking the deal. "Although [Luke's] alleged actions were directed to Kesha, who is female, [her claims] do no allege that [Luke] harbored animus toward women or was motivated by gender animus when he allegedly behaved violently toward Kesha," the judge said, according to TMZ. "Every rape is not a gender-motivated hate crime." Sony provided no comment on the ruling, and Kesha has yet to speak out as of right now.
