Last year, Drake made a big deal of trying to get "Hotline Bling" to the top of the Billboard Hot 100 Chart in the US. It didn't quite work (it peaked at No. 2), but at least he's finally grabbed the spot on the other side of the Atlantic. This week, his new Views From the 6 single "One Dance" sped to No. 1 on the UK charts, giving him his first chart topper in that country. According to a report from Billboard, the song went from No. 21 to No. 1 this week, pushing Mike Posner's "I Took A Pill in Ibiza" down to No. 2. The song, which features Kyla and Nigerian artist Wizkid, sold about 72,000 copies in the UK to accomplish the feat.
In the United States, the No. 1 spot remains elusive to him. Perhaps, with his upcoming album Views From the 6, he might be able to finally lay claim to the spot. The album, which drops April 29, will be exclusive to Apple Music for its first week of release before becoming available on all platforms. It's set to feature "One Dance," along with "Summer Sixteen" and "Pop Style" with Jay Z and Kanye West.
