UPDATE 6:40PM: A rep for the singer tells TMZ he has been fighting the flu for several weeks and had to postpone two shows on April 7 in Atlanta. Last night was the rescheduled show, but Prince was still feeling ill afterward, which was the cause for the emergency landing and hospital visit. He was released three hours later and is now back home in Minnesota.

See below for the original story.

According to TMZ, legendary singer Prince was hospitalized earlier this morning after his plane made an emergency landing in Illinois. The cause of Prince's medical situation is currently unclear, but he was reportedly rushed to the hospital just after 1 a.m. TMZ currently has conflicting reports on Prince's condition, with one source saying he's still in the hospital and "not doing well," while another said that he's been released and doing alright. As of now, reps for the singer have not released any kind of statement on the situation.

Prince performed Thursday night in Atlanta, though it's unknown if he was having any health issues before his plane took off. Back in 2009, Prince opened up to the press about living with epilepsy. It's unclear if that's the cause of this recent situation. It's worth noting that Prince's official Twitter account tweeted multiple times today from his home in Minnesota, though it's not known if he runs that account all by himself. We'll continue to update this story as more details come out.
