Skepta has been buzzing for a minute now, and it looks like he's finally ready to unleash his new sound on the world. Tonight he announced that his album Konnichiwa, which was originally due out last year, will finally be releasing on May 6. There's no official tracklist available as of now, but it's probable that popular songs like "Shutdown" and "Top Boy" will make the cut. Complex compiled everything we know so far about the album—minus the just-announced release date—here.

Skepta is hardly the first grime MC to try and make a splash across the pond; in the past, popular British rappers like Tinie Tempah and Dizzee Rascal have struggled to gain a foothold in the American rap scene. Skepta does have one secret weapon that none of those rappers did though: a strong cosign from Drake. The pair collaborated on the song "Ojulegba" with Wizkid last year, and he even popped up at Skepta's section tour back in February. Along with the release date, Skepta also shared the project's official tracklist, which might feature Drake.

With or without Drake, Skepta is a talented rapper, and it will be interesting to see how he's received by audiences in the United States. You can check out his Instagram announcement, as well as the dates of his upcoming US tour, below.
