GS9 might be fighting an uphill battle to stay alive at the moment, but don't count them out just yet. Recently, the collective's two most notable members, Bobby Shmurda and Rowdy Rebel, managed to help keep their names alive from behind bars by hoping on a remix of a Puff Daddy's recent hit newly titled "Shmoney Ain't A Problem."

Produced by Harry Fraud, the song first debuted late last year as part of Puff's album MMM. In its original form, the track came with an assist from none other than French Montana. In the months that followed, Puff went back into the lab to remix the song to include a feature verse by his associate Chinx who was found shot and killed in his car in Queens on May 17, 2015. Chinx's case remains unsolved.

Needless to say, it's good to hear from both Shmurda and Rebel again. Both men have been incarcerated for 18 months now on charges of conspiracy to commit murder, weapons possession, and reckless endangerment. GQ recently ran a profile piece about Shmurda's GS9 gang and the sting operation by the NYPD that led to their arrest just last month that provided a number of stunning details that were previously unknown to the public at large that brought up a number of questions about the case itself.

"There were other oddities. For a case against a purported drug gang, there was a curious lack of drugs. No undercover sting had interrupted a GS9 drug transaction. No illicit profits had been sought in forfeiture proceedings. The press release that accompanied the arrest in December 2014 mentioned "proceeds" and "narcotics packaging." And yet, defense lawyers say, nothing—no narcotics inventory, no packaging, no cash—has yet been shared by prosecutors during pre-trial discovery."
