Lil Wayne's Young Money Entertainment record label and manager Cortez Bryant have reportedly inked a settlement with Jas Prince over that $11 million Drake dispute, Bossip reports. Prince alleged that he was owed $11 million in unpaid royalties after introducing Drake to the Young Money team back in 2007, suing Young Money parent company Cash Money in a separate suit last year.
Prince receives a "confidential settlement" in the new deal after agreeing to drop all claims against those involved. Prior court documents obtained by Xposeshow that Prince received an initial payment of $1 million in 2013 relating to separate claims against Cash Money, though an alleged unpaid balance resulted in a breach of contract suit that was also settled late last year.
Wayne, of course, has had his own share of very public disagreements with Cash Money. Speaking to Big Boy last month, Cash Money founder Birdman assured fans that he and Wayne aren't enemies. However, he admitted, they aren't currently seeing eye-to-eye on the issues. For the definitive history of those issues, just peep this.
Later this year, Wayne is (finally!) set to release his long-awaited memoir chronicling his eight-month stay in prison for attempted criminal possession of a weapon. "From rap superstar Lil Wayne comes the long-awaited GONE 'TIL NOVEMBER, a deeply personal and revealing account of his time spent incarcerated on Rikers Island for eight months in 2010," the book's official description reads. Gone 'Til November: A Journal of Rikers Island, published by Penguin, hits shelves Oct. 11.
