Major Lazer has been teasing his collaboration, "Cold Water," with Justin Bieber and for months, but now the song finally arrives in full form as an easy contender for a summer heater.

The track finds the group headed by Diplo dipping into familiar territory where vibrant electronic chords and coastal beats meet a hook-heavy pop influence carried by the smooth vocals of Bieber, who handles the responsibilities on the chorus. Danish singer MØ also croons her own verse at the track's crucial bridge.

It makes a lot of sense that Diplo would recruit both Bieber and MØ for this new track considering the success he's had with both artists on previous songs. Many will remember that Diplo teamed up with Bieber on his massive Purpose cut, "Where Are Ü Now," as part of his Jack Ü project with Skrillex. Back in 2015, Diplo, DJ Snake, and MØ's "Lean On" carried us through pretty much the entire year and became Spotify's most streamed song ever.

"All we want to do is make the records feel like classics, even though they’re feeling progressive and strange to a normal ear," Diplo told Time in an interview about the success of "Lean On." "Cold Water" is proof Diplo has a pretty bulletproof formula in his head and has no intention of screwing around with it.

"Cold Water" is the lead single off Major Lazer’s fourth album, Music Is the Weapon. You can listen to and purchase the track on iTunes and Apple Music or below via Spotify.
