In 2004, VH1 launched its annual Hip Hop Honors to pay homage to the titans of the Hip Hop movement. Over the next 6 years, the ceremony honored some of rap’s most seminal figures, including: Tupac Shakur, Run-DMC, Public Enemy, LL Cool J, Snoop Dogg and MC Lyte.

Now, for the first time since 2010, the Hip Hop Honors are BACK! Hosted by Eve, the show will air LIVE tonight at 9/8c only on VH1.

This year’s ceremony will honor the Queens of Hip Hop—a group of bold female artists who have been both trailblazers and trendsetters in a highly male-dominated field. The living legends being honored are Queen Latifah, Missy Elliott, Salt-N-Pepa and Spinderella, and Lil’ Kim.

In addition to the amazing honorees, the evening will also feature performances by Fat Joe, Remy Ma, and Naughty by Nature, as well as special appearances by Mary J. Blige, Common, LL Cool J, Pharrell, Amber Rose, Kelly Rowland, Betty White, and the first lady herself, Michelle Obama.

This event is going to no doubt be one for the ages, so be sure to tune in at 9/8c TONIGHT for the triumphant return of the Hip Hop Honors—only on VH1. Prepare to give it up for the QUEENS!
