WayHome: 5 Acts You Need To See

This year's WayHome festival will be stocked up with talent. Here are the five artists you can't miss.

Nestled in the middle of southern Ontario, is the quiet town of Oro-Medonte. Famous for its rich Canadian history, the township's farmland is about to host one of the year's biggest events.

WayHome is a three day festival that boasts venue campgrounds, tens of thousands of attendees, and parties that go into the wee hours of the morning. The event had its inaugural launch last summer, and after landing acts like Run the Jewels, Alt-J,  and Kendrick Lamar, it's already gained an impressive reputation. Starting this Friday and running until Sunday the 24th, WayHome will have its second, three-day stint. And just by taking a peek at the lineup, it looks even better than before.

Here are the five musical acts, you need to catch at WayHome 2016.

FKA twigs

FKA twigs has low-key established herself as one of the most eccentric and impressive performers in music. She's still a burgeoning star, and with more and more releases, she'll become a household name. Her voice is angelic and her moves are eerily animatronic. The downtempo and lucid dream vibes should be reason enough for you to check her out. But we've included her Tonight Show performance to convince you even further.

Rae Sremmurd

Keeping with the theme of crazy performers, you absolutely need to see Rae Sremmurd live. Swae Lee and Slim Jxmmi will bring the chaos to WayHome. We hope you've been working on your biceps, as you may need to support some stage diving during their set. The Mike WiLL affiliates are preparing to release their new album in a matter of weeks, so expect them to play new album cuts, and absolute bangers, "By Chance" and "Look Alive".

The Killers

Fire up the early 2000s nostalgia. Yes, you can now be nostalgic about the early 2000s. This weekend, you and everyone you know will be screaming "Mr. Brightside" word for word. The anthemic rockers have a killer (all puns intended) set list, and there's a likelihood that you'll know a good few songs, regardless of your level of fandom. Face it, you just need to come out of your cage. You'll be doing just fine.

River Tiber

Toronto's best R&B acts have slowly breached the mainstream. River Tiber is one of the better of those acts. He's a terrific songwriter, and more importantly for the festival attendee, incredibly smooth live. For the uninitiated, spend the duration of your commute to WayHome listening to his debut album, Indigo.

Many fans know Danish pop star, , simply as the master of EDM hooks. Before "Lean On", the singer spent most of 2014 supporting her underrated full-length LP, No Mythologies To Follow. The Diplo protégé knows how to rock a crowd, and if you've only heard a couple featured appearances, you'll be pleasantly surprised by her own catalog.
