UPDATED August 5, 11:01 a.m. ET: Last night Complex reported that Drake said "fuck Hot 97," in addition to making a call for DJ Funkmaster Flex's termination, during his show at Madison Square Garden. This report was based on the first-hand account of Complex staffers in attendance, and corroborated by other concertgoers. However, while audio of the Flex slight has surfaced, no audio or visual evidence of Drake slighting the station as a whole in that manner has been produced. While our staffers maintain their recollection of events, as an outlet we must rescind that report, unless further evidence is produced, and apologize to both parties, as well as our audience, for our rush to publication.
Complex contacted "a source within Drake's camp" who denied that "fuck Hot 97" was said.

Drake's "Summer Sixteen" tour stopped at Madison Square Garden in New York City Thursday night, and the Toronto rapper had some harsh words for NYC radio station Hot 97, and in a freestyle accused the station of telling lies about him. This is in reference to host Ebro Darden claiming Drake told him he would diss Eminem if the Detroit MC dissed Drake. Ebro would later say he was joking about the whole thing.
Drake also said he demanded they fire Funkmaster Flex in order for him to do an interview with the station.
That boy said "First night at the Garden I feel like D. Rose"
Drake for real said "fire Funk Flex and then I'll do your show" 😳
Flex got himself heavily involved in Drake's beef with Meek Mill last year after he leaked several reference tracks for Drake songs. This included "10 Bands," "R.I.C.O.," "Used To," and "Know Yourself." "Rappers who have reference tracks cannot claim 'king,'" Flex said on his show during the controversy. "I didn't make that rule. If you're wearing that crown, you better write. If you don't write, you don't have that crown." The reference tracks helped to propel the fight between Drake and Meek, the latter of whom claimed Drake didn't write his own verses. Flex later responded to the diss on Twitter.
