Tonight’s VMAs are going to be one for the books, especially for the Navy. Rihanna is set to receive this year’s Video Vanguard Award—putting on a prestigious list of recipients that includes names like Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears, Kanye West, and Beyoncé.
Just like past winners, RiRi will perform a medley of her hits during tonight’s ceremony; however, rather than one giant performance, she will bless viewers with four separate sets throughout the night. The first of which was the opener for the VMAs, which featured hits like “Where Have You Been,” “Don’t Stop the Music,” and “We Found Love.”Â
You can check out the first performance above. And be sure to stay tuned for the remaining sets throughout the night. It sounds like they're going to be epic.Â

Right after Drake presented Rihanna with the last award of the night, the pair walked backstage for some celebrating and photo opps with Ri's family.
