Bon Iver is just a few days away from the release of his third album, 22, A Million, and they've decided to give fans one more taste of what's to come. On Monday, Bon Iver decided to premiere a new track on Annie Mac's BBC 1 Radio program. Sticking to the strange title format of this album's previous singles, the new track is titled "8 (circle)."
The song also follows the mood of previous singles, with a soft, but positive vibe and echoing vocals. "Philosophize your figure/What I have in heaven, hell/You called, I came, stand tall through it all/Fallen fixture just the same thing," sings Justin Vernon on the track.
"8 (circle)" is the fourth single from 22, A Million. Bon Iver previously released the singles "33 'GOD'," "22 (OVER S∞∞N)," and "10 d E A T h b R E a s T ⊠ ⊠." The band's new album follows two previous, critically acclaimed efforts, 2007's For Emma, Forever Ago, and 2011's Bon Iver, Bon Iver.
"22, A Million is part love letter, part final resting place of two decades of searching for self-understanding like a religion. And the inner-resolution of maybe never finding that understanding," the band explained in a recent press release. "The album’s 10 poly-fi recordings are a collection of sacred moments, love’s torment and salvation, contexts of intense memories, signs that you can pin meaning onto or disregard as coincidence."
