Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake were once the ultimate pop couple, and it now looks like the pair might finally reunite for a new musical collaboration.

"She did? Sure! Absolutely, absolutely," he told E! News at the Toronto International Film Festival after being told that Britney said she wanted to work with him. "I have a 17-month-old so I don’t get the headline news. I apologize for not being in the know...I'm accessible. Give us a call!"

In case you missed it, Spears was asked in August who she would like to collaborate with in the future. After rolling off a couple names like Aerosmith and Gwen Stefani, she also mentioned Timberlake and added that he "is very good."

Both singers exploded onto the pop scene in the late '90s, which is when they got together and wore their still iconic coordinated denim outfits to events like the VMAs until their sudden breakup in the early '00s. Fans were left confused until Timberlake hinted at what might've gone down when he linked up with Timbaland to give us one of the best breakup ballads of all time in "Cry Me a River."

From there, Timberlake continued to collaborate with Timbaland and cemented his status as a solo star as Spears went through some very public highs and lows before landing back on top with a Vegas show and her recent VMA performance. The two are both back on top and there really isn't a better time to get back in the studio together and reward all of our '90s nostalgia.
