UPDATE 7:30 pm EST: A rep for the Country Music Association denied deleting any information about Beyonce from its social media accounts in a statement to Billboard. "CMA has not erased any mentions of Beyoncé’s performance on the CMA Awards," the rep said. "In advance of the broadcast, CMA removed a five-second promotional clip from ABC.com and CMA’s Facebook page. The promo was unapproved and CMA removed it prior to the broadcast. Beyoncé’s performance with Dixie Chicks was a highlight of the evening and we are continuing to share the amazing full-length performance clip via our official social channels."

Beyoncé'sperformance at the Country Music Awards Wednesday night won major props from a number of media outlets, but there's scant evidence of it on any of CMA's social media pages. After several news outlets raised questions about her absence, CMA did share a Dixie Chicks post about the performance on Facebook, but they aren't seen anywhere else. Furthermore, neither the Dixie Chicks nor Beyoncé are included on the CMA's official list of performers, despite being one of the most-billed performances ahead of the show.

It's not clear exactly why this is the case, but fan backlash could be the answer. On the one post the CMA did make, nearly all the comments are angry. Some ask why Beyoncé was invited in the first place, while others accuse her of encouraging fans to harm police officers or make racist remarks about her.

"It's not about Beyoncé not being country because I enjoyed seeing various artists such as Justin Timberlake perform in the past. It's about her and the Dixie Dorks being Anti American and Beyonce being Anti Police. They are a disgrace to America and don't belong here!!!" wrote one commenter. "She can go back where she comes from ... SHE HAD NO VALUABLE REASON TO BE THERE," said another.

The Dixie Chicks, who have spoken out against the CMA before, sided firmly with Bey on Twitter.

So far the CMA hasn't responded to any media inquiries about Beyoncé's absence from their pages.
