On her new Crown EP, Rapsody recruited some familiar names including Ab-Soul, Anderson .Paak, and Raphael Saadiq.

The 10-track project also boasts production from 9th Wonder and includes her remix of Solange's hit, "Mad."

The North Carolina MC gained public recognition after appearing on Kendrick Lamar's To Pimp a Butterfly track, "Complexion (A Zulu Love)." She later opened up to Complex about how the track came together. "We didn’t talk in-depth about what direction to go in, but he told me complexion," she explained. "You know, African-American, black people in America. I knew kind of the thought process behind it. I was in D.C. and I wrote that verse that day. 9th drove up, and we went into the studio and recorded it that night."

Then, during her set at this year's Brooklyn Hip-Hop Festival, Rapsody announced that she had signed with Jay Z's Roc Nation.
