As much as fans appreciate J. Cole and Kendrick Lamar’s solo work, the fact that they’ve talked about collaborating on a joint album is a dream come true for hip-hop heads.

Lamar and Cole have been on and off about the project for a few years now, but Ab-Soul dropped a bit of news that confirms it actually exists.

During an interview with The Breakfast Club while promoting his fourth studio album DWTW, Soul told Charlamagne tha God he may have a feature on the Kendrick/Cole album. Soul says, “I can’t speak on that. I wish I could.”

Charlamagne prodded a bit more and asked if the project was going to come, in which Soul replied, “I’m saying these guys move like the mob. You never know with these guys. I just hope they use my verse. They just need to use my verse.”

Charlamagne asked once again if there’s a Kendrick/Cole album, and Soul says, “They got it. They got something in the works. They’ve been working on that motherfucker for a while.”

“I want to see that happen. I’m saying, these guys, they’ll have something today and you come back next week…they done brought Cardo Got Wings in here and Dahi," Ab-Soul adds. "I’m just like, ‘What happened to Sounwave? What’s up?’ I just sit back and just observe.”

The last time Lamar and Cole shared a headline was when they released a pair of freestyles on Black Friday last year. For America’s biggest shopping day after Thanksgiving, they gifted fans with remixes on each other’s songs from their albums To Pimp a Butterfly and 2014 Forest Hills Drive. Cole rapped over Kendrick’s “Alright” while Kendrick tried his hand at “A Tale of 2 Citiez.”
