Lil Uzi Vert had a huge 2016, and he's looking to keep making a big impact into next year. In a recent interview with DJ Whoo Kid, he revealed that he's recently spent time in the studio with Kanye West. Speaking about the experience, Uzi noted that just working with Kanye is inspirational. "He drops gems on you and he don't even know," he said. "Like he's just talking and he's dropping gems. He's very intelligent."
Although he doesn't think the experience changed the type of music he makes, he does note that Kanye has always been influential to him. "I'm not gonna say I've switched my style as of now, but of course Kanye helped my style in general," he said.
Elsewhere in the interview, Uzi also revealed how he linked up with DJ Drama. Apparently, it was all by chance. “Don Cannon was driving through Philly and they was playing my songs on the radio and he heard it and called up to the radio station and got my information and hit me up,” he said. Luckily for Uzi, it all worked out for him.
It's been a crazy week for Uzi. He was arrested in Atlanta on Tuesday for a number of traffic violations after fleeing from the police on a dirt bike. According to reports, he crashed the bike and attempted to flee on foot before being apprehended by police. He's out of jail, but still facing some charges for the incident.
