The Game may be hanging up the mic for good. The Compton rapper recently performed a show in Russia, where he told fans that his next album may be his last. "When I get back to L.A. man I'm going to straight to jail because I had a fucking fight with a police officer and shit," he said, referencing a 2015 incident in which he punched an off-duty police officer in the face. "So I'ma sit down and I'm gonna write my next album which is probably going to be my last album. It's called West Side Story. It's gonna be some ill shit. But I don't really give a fuck about that. All I give a fuck about is my music, my kids, my fans, and my family man," he said.
If he ends up being serious about West Side Story being his final album, it would cap off an impressive career. The Game has released eight studio albums since his 2005 debut The Documentary, along with a number of mixtapes and compilation albums. He most recently dropped the album 1992 back in October, although it only managed to move 32,000 units in its first week.
He's also facing monetary troubles. The Game was recently ordered to pay $7.3 million to a woman named Priscilla Rainey, who claims The Game sexually assaulted her during the filming of his reality show He Got Game. The rapper has appealed the verdict.
