Beyoncé Slays With Theatrical Performance at the Grammys

Beyoncé killed it with a larger-than-life theatrical performance at the Grammys.

It would be near-impossible to have a more highly-anticipated performance than Beyoncé at the Grammys. Add in her recent pregnancy announcement, and excitement could hardly get any higher.

And somehow, Queen Bey managed to rise above even the most exalted expectations. She performed a medley of "Love Drought" and "Sandcastles" while wearing a suitably queen-like gold dress and headpiece. Surrounded by tons of dancers and crazy set pieces, she managed to make the performance seem simultaneously huge and intimate, even while being suspended dangerously in a chair.

Viewers were blown away not only by the theatrical performance, but by the fact that Bey did it all while visibly expecting.

And there wasn't a celeb who viewed it—Bey's former groupmates included—who wasn't amazed.

Fun fact: I choreographed #Beyonce's number. #grammys

Find a man you can trust the way Beyoncé trusted this chair and gravity #GRAMMYs #beyonce pic.twitter.com/JmqPcMZmF4

But out of the whole medley, it was the pop star's moment in the chair that got the most attention.

You can watch the whole performance, chair and all, above.
