Cadence Weapon Edmonton Kaytranada My Crew

Originally hailing from Edmonton, Cadence Weapon recently spent some time living in Montreal and it seems he was pretty inspired by his experience there if his new track, "My Crew (Woooo)," is any indication. The rapper calls out his "Mile End friends" and "Parc Ex connects," as well as the neighbourhoods of Little Italy, the Plateau, St. Henri and Notre-Dame-de-Grâce, which he calls "The Deeg," a local slang moniker for the area.

Cadence also muses that he might start wearing camo "when the cops stop," a reference to the fact that members of the Service de Police de la Ville de Montreal wear camouflage pants instead of more traditional police blues. The unconventional uniform choice started in 2014 as a protest against changes to the police pension plan by Quebec's government. The province hasn't backed down, so to this day the cops still wear camo pants.

Keeping with the theme, the track features banging production by another native Montrealer and worldwide superstar Kaytranada, who recently collaborated with Alicia Keys. Stream the track below and stay tuned for more music from both in 2017.
