A Boogie Made a Spotify Playlist of the Songs He Loved as a Teen

Complex and Spotify bring you the albums that influenced today's biggest musicians. We sat down with our #1 artist named Artist, A Boogie wit da Hoodie

A Boogie wit da Hoodie was a teenager two short years ago, so asking him to list his favorite albums from the phase before he became a star shows how rapidly he’s exploded. The Bronx-born rapper’s excellent February mixtape Artist, after his given name, made waves for standout singles like “My Shit,” and “Jungle.” He has the ego of a seasoned star but backs it up with flow and musicality, which makes sense when you see his influences run through Kanye’s Graduation, 50 Cent’sGet Rich or Die Trying and Usher’s Confessions. True to any self-promoting young rapper, he includes two of his own projects on the list of ten, one that isn’t even out yet. Gotta love that confidence. Watch the video above to find out why he loved the albums he chose, and listen to his Spotify playlist below.
