If you were excited about Frank Ocean's more regular appearances in public, we have some bad news for you. Ocean continued his streak of ducking out of performances Saturday, when he canceled a scheduled appearance at the 2017 edition of Primavera Sound.

The Barcelona-based festival released a statement on their website once they found out he wouldn't be there, claiming Ocean backed out due to "production delays beyond his control." Primavera's team apologized to their fans in the statement and on their social media feeds, and told fans they'd be able to get refunds for their tickets up until Tuesday, May 30.

We are sorry for any inconvenience caused by this situation and we appreciate your understanding.

If the phrase "production delays beyond his control" sounds familiar, that's because it's one he has used before. Ocean backed out of two music festivals this year, Hangout and Sasquatch, with the same explanation used to explain his absence at both events.

The question now is whether Ocean will end up performing at any of the festivals he's scheduled to play at this summer. Ocean is scheduled for a series of festivals around the world, with appearances expected to range from Los Angeles to Helsinki, Finland between now and August. He even has a history with some of the events—the FYF Festival, which he's scheduled to headline in late July, was the site of a prior Ocean cancelation in 2015. His explanation two years ago was that he "decided on his own terms to cancel his appearance."

There's no telling what's behind the recent cancelations, and Ocean isn't the type of artist to share that intel on social media. One of the only recent windows into his mind was a small bit of frustration on Tumblr, after Forever 21 used fonts on their storefront that look eerily similar to what he used for Blonde and Boys Don't Cry.

Whatever the cause is, if you have a ticket at one of Ocean's appearances coming up on the calendar—his next two performances are supposed to come at Northside (Denmark) and Parklife Festival (U.K.)—you may want to start prepping for Ocean potentially backing out of those events, too. As we've mentioned before, Ocean has been sending signs he may go back to his reclusive ways, and another canceled performance will only add fuel to that fire.
