On Monday, we brought you the incredible story of Shad Moss (a.k.a. Bow Wow) getting chased by fans in Charlotte, North Carolina. If you missed the ensuing viral video, here's a refresher:

The clip was immediately called into question on social media, with some joking that Bow Wow paid a bunch of people to fake a fan chase.

TMZcaught up with Bow Wow Wednesday, asking him about the viral chase video and the ongoing #BowWowChallenge jokes. According to Bow Wow, the chase happened during the SoSoSummer17 tour with Jermaine Dupri.

"Our tour buses was parked, like, not really where they're supposed to be," he explained. "I remember just being at the top of the loading dock with Jermaine, and Jermaine is like, 'Yo, you cannot go out there.' I'm like, 'Look, I'm not about to stand here in the loading dock all day. We gotta get to the bus.' So I told him, I said, 'Well, I'm going to try to run around the crowd,' and he's like 'Good luck.'"

At first, Bow Wow was walking through the crowd without issue. "It was smooth until, like, one grabbed my shirt and I said OK, I'm about to just make a dash," he said. Then, a full-on chase broke out.

Bow Wow also addressed the confounding private jet incident and the #BowWowChallenge jesting. "I mean, for me, I was kinda laughing with it because I never said that I was on that specific plane," he said, comparing the Instagram post to a "current mood" meme.
