ASAP Twelvyy Chronicles His Life in the Streets on New Song "Strapped"

ASAP Twelvyy is readying his debut ASAP Mob project, and kicks off the campaign strong with "Strapped." The song is produced by frequent Mob collaborator P on the Boards and features a slick flip of Sampha's "Beneath the Tree," which Twelvyy​ uses to share his story of time on the block and the pain he and the people around him have experienced.

'"Strapped" was a labor of love," Twelvyy​ said of the record in a press release. "That's a movie I've been starring in my whole life. It's only right I begin this next chapter with the super hero origin story."

Kendrick Lamar was clearly digging the track as the Compton rapper shared a direct link to stream the song on Twitter. It's not often Lamar shares music outside of the TDE label, so consider that a major co-sign.
