They didn't want DJ Khaled to get another No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 chart, but he did it anyway with Grateful

After earning 149,000 equivalent album units, 50,000 of which were in traditional album sales, DJ Khaled's 10th studio album has landed at the top of the list this week, barely edging out Evolve by Imagine Dragons and its 147,000 units. Grateful becomes DJ Khaled's second consecutive album to wind up taking the top spot in its first week. Last year, Major Key sold 95,000 units with 59,000 being in traditional album sales.

In the weeks leading up to Grateful's arrival, DJ Khaled has been steadily dropping one banger after another, starting with the release of "I'm the One" video featuring Justin BieberChance the RapperQuavo, and Lil Wayne in late April. The track's success as one of the contenders for song of the summer didn't stop Khaled from keeping his foot on the gas pedal to drop "To the Max," the long-awaited collab with Drake, as well as revealing the album's album cover and release date. One week before his album was set to drop, Khaled got people talking once again with the Rihanna and Bryson Tiller-assisted "Wild Thoughts."

Meanwhile, Kendrick Lamar's Damn continues to perform well on the charts. K. Dot's fourth studio album finished strong at No. 3 earning a solid 59,000 units, outperforming the deluxe remastered reissue of the Purple Rain soundtrack by Prince and the Revolution, which amassed a total of 52,000 units.
