The video for "Build You Up" by Kamaiyah is finally here! Earlier this week, the Oakland rapper posted a tweet to put us on notice.

But other than a quick follow-up PSA explaining that the song was a "positive message," we didn't know what to expect.

PSA: This is a single cover there's no parental advisory bar because the song isn't explicit it's a positive message https://t.co/XoStk4c6Yb

Then, on Wednesday, Kamaiyah provided a brief behind-the-scenes clip on her Instagram page.

Of course, the clip left us wanting more. But now that the video for "Build You Up" has seen the light of day, our attention turns to Kamaiyah's long-awaited mixtape Don’t Ever Get It Twisted. In late April, she delivered some bad news to her fans, informing them that her upcoming project was being postponed because of an issue with "sample clearances."

Shit is different once you sign a deal trust me if I could just drop my mixtape I would but I can't due to sample clearances etc

Since then, we have been stuck looking at that same pinned tweet of the project's cover art with the hashtag #Comingsoon.

Considering Kamaiyah's placement on XXL's 2017 Freshman Class, we know we're not the only ones eagerly waiting to hear what she's got for us. You can watch the ’90s-inspired clip for "Build You Up," directed by Van White, above.
