The rollout for Meek Mill’s third studio album continues, as the Philadelphia rapper recently announced a short film to serve as a visual component to his upcoming Wins & Losses project. While the years between 2015’s Dreams Worth More than Money would’ve seemingly provided enough source material to support the upcoming album’s title, Meek appears to be making a departure with the short film.

The first trailer from Wins & Losses: The Movie appears to focus on at least one character struggling to choose between street life and family obligations. In between quick cuts of dice games, run-ins with police and bagging up work, the character is posed a question.

“Do you want to be a drug dealer for the rest of your life, and you’re about to have a kid?”

Things peak with a depiction of a grizzly drive-by shooting, and some of the scenes were also previewed in the video for “Young Black America.”

Spike Jordan, whose previous credits include Meek’s “Litty” and “Lord Knows” videos, as well as clips for Future’s “Real Sisters” and Vince Staples' “Norf Norf,” serves as the project’s director. Debbie Lewis, Chelsie Simpson and Anisa Barnes are all also credited with appearances.

Wins & Losses: The Movie is scheduled for release Monday, July 17, while Meek's Wins & Losses album appears to still be on track for a July 21 release.
