UPDATED July 15, 9:50 p.m. ET: Lauryn Hill dispelled rumors of a reunion on Twitter and confirmed the track is old.

Wyclef also added that he doesn't endorse the leak.

To all my fugees fans, the song leaked today is a old one from past studio days.I don't endorse it in anyway and had no clue it was coming.

Are The Fugees reuniting?

On Saturday, Funkmaster Flex teased on his social media accounts that he was in possession of a new Fuggees record and he would debut it on Hot 97.

YOOOOOOOOOO!!!! 7pm!!!! NEW FUGEES RECORD!!!!!!! TONIGHT!!!!! #ThisIsWhatNewYorkCitySoundsLike https://t.co/jImueE1JPW

As promised, he premiered the song earlier this evening. While we don’t know much about its origin story (like how old it is) or the song’s title yet, it does feature all three members of The Fugees. Lauryn Hill starts off, then Pras Michel, and finally Wyclef Jean.

The group’s rocky history is public knowledge these days. But Wyclef is open to a Fugees reunion, explaining on The Real that crowd perception is very important. “The simplicity of what Dave Chappelle did brought us together for the Block Party, and people thought it wouldn’t happen,” he says, referencing Chappelle’s Block Party in 2006. “I think the more fans demand this—like they’re watching this. And this is not me, this is y’all saying that. Y’all want to relive that. So, I’m in 300 percent.”

Pras, on the other hand, believes there will never be another Fugees reunion.

“For me I’m very grateful. I’m in a great place in my life,” he tells VladTV. “That was a moment that was great. We tried to do something and it kind of like almost happened and it didn’t. That’s in the distant past for me.”

Wyclef does a solo album coming out soon titled The Carnival Vol. 1: The Fall & Rise of a Refugee that’s set for September 15. Is he going into Fugees mode after? Listen to the new track, below, and the CDQ via InFlexWeTrust.
