Veteran political pundit and TV news show host Keith Olbermann has a new home at Current TV. Never heard of it? Current TV is the brainchild of former Vice President, and inventor of the internet, Al Gore, and Joel Hyatt. Launched in 2005, the networks aim is to provide news without political leanings. The plan is for Olbermann to host a nightly news commentary show, most likely very similar to Countdown with Keith Olbermann. He is also going to be the Chief News Officer at the channel. There is no date for the show’s debut but Current TV’s website claims it will be on the air later this year.

Olbermann was suspended from his highly rated show Countdown with Keith Olbermann by MSNBC in November 2010 for making monetary contributions to three Democratic politicians: Jack Conway, Raul Grijalva, and Gabrielle Giffords. MSNBC claims that all employees must have written permission to donate to political causes, and this January, Olbermann announced that he was leaving the network.
