If shooting flaming arrows at colossal hydras and wrangling griffons in midair is your thing—and let's be serious, of course it is—then Dragon’s Dogma is for you. Announced at Capcom’s Captivate event last week (though the embargo just lifted last night), Dragon’s Dogma is an open-world action RPG that allows players to take on the roles of a Mage, a Fighter, or a Strider. The combat system appears very detailed and will actually factor in the weight of your weapons and armor for various actions. The ability to grab opponents is integral to the system as small enemies can be heaved as living projectiles, while larger creatures—such as Griffons—can be scaled and mounted. Check out the trailer to see Dragon’s Dogma in action and then shake in anticipation as you wait for the 2012 release on the PS3 and Xbox 360. [via Destructoid]
