Doesn't anybody want to show love to Snow White?

Universal is having the damnedest time trying to cast a male lead in Snow White and the Huntsman, and now negotiations with Hugh Jackman (The Wolverine) have ended.

According the The Wrap, the studio had offered Jackman the role of the Huntsman after talks with Viggo Mortensen also ceased, but now the production is still without a male lead to star alongside Kristen Stewart and Charlize Theron (who'll play Snow White and the Evil Queen, respectively).

The project is one of two competing Snow White stories currently prepping for cameras. The other is Relativity Media's Snow White, which will star Armie Hammer (The Social Network), Julia Roberts (Eat Pray Love), and Lily Collins (Priest), and will be directed by Tarsem Singh.

Nevertheless, Snow White And The Huntsman is still a-go, scheduled to start filming this August. The fantasy-adventure should whisk into theaters on December 21, 2012.
