You're amongst friends here, so you can admit that you watch Gossip Girl. Probably because of the soap opera-level plotting, double-crosses and staging. Also, the beautiful girls in the cast like Blake Lively and Leighton Meester. Gossip Girl is like that subscription you have to Playboy for the articles.
With that in mind, it's time to say farewell to two of Gossip Girl's, well, girls. TVLine reports that Taylor Momsen and Jessica Szohr will not be returning to the show as series regulars during the fifth season. Not that you should be surprised by the news: neither has had much to do during season four—Momsen, in fact, has been MIA for all but a handful of episodes—and both of their reviled characters have seemingly run their course.
Both actresses have other plans lined up. Momsen leads the band The Pretty Reckless, a neo-version of Hole with her posing as Courtney Love; Szohr was in Piranha 3D, and has five small-to-medium sized indies in development over the next year.
