Philip Noyce, the director of Patriot Games and Salt, has signed on to remake the cult classic, Bloodsport, according to Screen Daily.
Filming off a Robert Mark Kamen script, this new Bloodsport will follow an American who travels to Brazil to get over the nightmares he endured in Afghanistan. Once there, he becomes involved in a martial arts competition, and, presumably, kicks an excessive amount of ass. While the original famously starred Jean-Claude Van Damme, the remake has no leading man attached yet. We're guessing that Jason Statham will receive a call from his agent any day now.
