You're nobody in Hollywood unless you have a crew: Frank Sinatra had his "Rat Pack," Adam Sandler has his famous funny buddies, and now Judd Apatow (who recently produced the smash hit Bridesmaids) is ready to continue his own working-with-friends trend for his next, currently-untitled, directorial effort.
His next film is going to be a spinoff to Knocked-Up, Apatow's 2007 hit that established Seth Rogen as a viable leading man. Rumored to be called This Is Forty, the new project will further look at the relationship between the husband-and-wife characters played Paul Rudd and Leslie Mann. Megan Fox and Albert Brooks are already on board (the latter will play Rudd's father), and today Variety reports that Bridesmaids co-star Chris O'Dowd, Lena Dunham, Charlyne Yi, and Wyatt Russell have all joined the ensemble comedy.
O'Dowd and Dunham will play employees of the record label that Rudd works for, Russell will portray a hockey player, and Yi will reprise her role as "Jodi," making her the first cast member outside of the married duo to return.
There's no word yet as to whether Knocked Up stars Seth Rogen and Katherine Heigl will make cameo appearances. But the as-yet-titled film, originally scheduled for a summer 2012 release, is now slated for release on December 21, 2012.
