Comedians Jason Bateman and Melissa McCarthy both have had big hits this summer with Horrible Bosses and Bridesmaids, and now, the former is lining up his next comedy. Deadline reports that this dynamic duo of funny are attached to star in The ID Theft, which Bateman is also producing. The film was originally set to center on a guy who steals another guy's identity, but apparently Michael Bluth pushed for McCarthy to take on the role of the titular theft after seeing her steal the thunder from her Bridesmaids cast.

These two are killing any role that they've taken on. Although The Change-Up with Ryan Reynolds tanked in the box office, this pairing of raucous talent is exciting news. While Steve Conrad (The Pursuit of Happyness) wrote the original script, The Hangover Part II scribe Craig Mazin is currently handling rewriting duties.

The ID Theft is expected to begin filming during McCarthy's hiatus from her CBS sitcom Mike and Molly next April.
