All you have to do is take a look at Anthony Mackie's IMDB page to see how hard he's been working these past few year. Although it seems like he's getting more supporting roles than leads at the moment, Mackie is looking to change that pattern by developing a biopic of Olympic runner Jesse Owens. A brief history lesson for those uninitiated on the life of Mr. Owens: In 1936, the kid who honed his skills in Cleveland, Ohio helped to discredit Adolf Hitler's ideas about a superior Aryan race by winning four gold medals.

Mackie's project is in the early stages, as he's looking at and working with writers at the present. Envisioning himself as the Buckeye Bullet, Mackie looks to shed a few pounds to be in peek physical condition. "If Ryan Gosling is believed to be able to gain 30 pounds to play a role, I can definiely lose 10." So consider this project "in the works," but by no means does Anthony have no shortage of starry projects on the way. He's currently shooting the Oscar worthy crime ensemble The Gangster Squad with Josh Brolin, the aforementioned Ryan Gosling, Sean Penn, and Emma Stone. Next year, Mackie will battle undead bloodsuckers alongside Honest Abe in Timur Bekmambetov's adaptation of the Seth Grahame-Smith mash-up novel Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter.
