Someone up there in Hollywood Heaven sure loves Eddie Murphy. His 2012 dramedy, A Thousand Words, has been pushed back from January 13, 2012 to March 23. Why, you ask? Although Paramount Pictures wouldn't comment on the reason behind the date change, it's likely an attempt to capitalize on the buzz the Tower Heist funnyman will earn from hosting the Oscars on February 26.
The plot finds Murphy playing a man who discovers that he has only 1,000 words left to speak before he dies. Lucky enough for him, he'll have more to say during the Academy Awards broadcast, but will that honestly translate into box office success? The movie, which co-stars Allison Janney (The Help) and Kerry Washington (We The Peeples), is directed by Brian Robbins, who directed Murphy in Meet Dave and Norbit.
