Samsung Releasing Its First Desktop In The U.S.

Samsung switches it up.

Recent successes in the mobile sector here in the States have Samsung targeting a stronger foothold overall. And so, attacking the opposite side of the spectrum for the first time, Samsung is readying a sleek desktop for an American release on October 10th, an all-in-one unit under its Series 7 lineup.

Priced affordably at $999 and $1,199, both models will have a 23-inch display and two-finger touchscreen capability. Core i3 and i5 processors, respectively, will power the machines with 6GB or 8GB of memory. However, the models won’t be quite as powerful as comparable iMacs—arguably the current standard bearer for all-in-one machines— and its price fails to reflect the lacking specs, as well. Though that touchscreen will ultimately be the deciding factor for most.
