Charlie Sheen may be a dirty dog, but an underdog? Never that.

Sheen's short lived hitaus from acting is no more. The former Two and a Half Men star has found a new home for his talents on Anger Management, a show based on 1993 Adam Sandler and Jack Nicholson movie by the same name, which Sheen developed along with Bruce Helford and Joe Roth.

"I chose 'Anger Management' because, while it might be a big stretch for me to play a guy with serious anger management issues, I think it is a great concept," says Sheen of his new acting venture.

We're hoping that statement was made with tounge firmly in cheek, because clearly this role will be far from a stretch for Sheen, whose illustrious past includes accidentally (psh) shooting ex-wife Kelly Preston, violently threatening next-ex Denise Richards, and beating and almost beheading his most recent ex Brooke Muller.

That being said, the show is set to premiere on FX in Summer of 2012, and we'd be lying if we said we won't be watching.
