Action-starved movie fans can now drag their significant other to John McClain's latest shoot-'em-up bloodbath, now titled A Good Day to Die Hard, when it gets released on February 14, 2013, according to Coming Soon.
This will be the fifth movie in the Die Hard franchise, and the first since 2007's Live Free or Die Hard. The movie will be written by Skip Woods, who has some dubious writing credits such as The A-Team and X-Men Origins: Wolverine, and directed by John Moore, who is best known for being the director of Max Payne and Behind Enemy Lines. Here is the official plot synopsis provided by 20th Century Fox:
"Since the first Die Hard in 1988, John McClain has found himself in the wrong place at the wrong time, with the skills and attitude to always be the last man standing, making him enemy #1 for terrorists the world over. Now, McClain faces his greatest challenge ever, this time on an international stage, when his estranged son Jack is caught up in the daring prison escape of a rogue Russian leader, and father and son McClain must work together to keep each other alive and keep the world safe for democracy."
We'll see if this movie can reclaim the classic Die Hard magic from the '80s, or if it will be more painful to watch than walking barefoot on broken glass.
