Tonya Cooley, who made her debut in 2001 on MTV'sThe Real World: Chicago, is suing the network for its participation in her alleged rape in Thailand, where The Real World/Road Rules Challenge: The Ruins was filmed.

Cooley recently filed a lawsuit against MTV, Bunim/Murray Productions and cast members Kenneth Santucci and Evan Starkman, which claims that Santucci and Starkman "took another male participant’s toothbrush and rubbed the toothbrush around [Cooley's] genitals, including rubbing her labia and inserting the toothbrush into plaintiff’s vagina."

Worse yet, Cooley belives MTV not only knew about the rape but took pains to cover it up, replacing the toothbrush used and hiding the incident from her, which occurred when she was sleeping. She also voiced that this was not a singular situation, and that MTV producers regularly encouraged the males on the show to "inappropriately touch female cast members' bodies, including in intimate areas."

After 25 years of scandal and sordid reality programming, will The Real World will be taken down by this lawsuit? Or do you think Cooley, whose name yields Google results that include soft core porn and a Playboy spread, is trying to suck some cash out of the long-running series?
