No one has ever questioned Quentin Tarantino's sanity before, mainly because he has no sanity to question, but we think that he should be getting a visit from a few men brandishing butterfly nets after reading the list of his favorite films from 2011. Here are his choices, according to The Tarantino Archives:

Quentin Tarantino’s official Top 11 of 2011

1. Midnight In Paris
2. Rise of the Planet of the Apes
3. Moneyball
4. The Skin I Live In
5. X-Men: First Class
6. Young Adult
7. Attack The Block
8. Red State
9. Warrior
10. The Artist / Our Idiot Brother (tie)
11. The Three Musketeers

Others considered but in no particular order:

50/50
Beginners
Hugo
The Iron Lady
Carnage
Green Hornet
Green Lantern
Captain America
The Descendants
My Week With Marilyn
Fast Five
The Tree Of Life
The Hangover Part II
Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol
The Beaver
Contagion
The Sitter
War Horse

In addition to his favorite films, he gave out other "awards" in the following categories: the "Nice Try Awards" and the "Worst Film" awards:

Nice Try Award

Drive
Hanna
Drive Angry
Real Steel

Worst Films

Sucker Punch
Potiche
(Trophy Wife)
Miral
Insidious
Rampart
Straw Dogs
Paranormal Activity 3
Meek’s Cutoff

We're not surprised about Midnight in Paris, Moneyball, or Rise of the Planet of the Apes (although it is a little high) being among the director's top choices, but his love for Paul W.S. Anderson'sThe Three Musketeers is a bit peculiar because that flick is almost as brutal to watch as the Zapruder film is. Also, having movies like Green Lantern and Captain America: The First Avenger rank above the Tarantino-esque flick, Drive, definitely wasn't expected. Do we sense a little professional jealousy?

We understand that someone's opinion can't be considered "wrong", but Tarantino comes pretty close here.
