Boardwalk Empire's Michael K. Williams has been tapped to play the late rapper and Wu-Tang Clan member, Ol' Dirty Bastard, in an upcoming movie about his last years, titled Dirty White Boy, according to Entertainment Weekly.
The movie will be directed by Joaquin Baca-Asay and it will focus primarily on the relationship between the rapper and former VH1-intern-turned-manager, Jarred Weisfeld. The inexperienced Weisfeld served as Ol' Dirty Bastard's manager towards the end of his career, and he even engineered a brief comeback for him until a drug overdose took the rapper's life in 2004.
The site is reporting that the role of Weisfeld hasn't been filled yet. Whoever does get cast in the role will have to pull off a mixture of tragedy and comedy as the plot recounts the somewhat offbeat relationship between the two. We'll have more information on this project as it becomes available.
