“Carrie” Remake Will Have An Element Of "Found Footage" In It

Will this hit-and-miss trend make you stay away from the movie?

None

The remake of Brian De Palma's classic horror movie, Carrie, has been sounding pretty good so far. Chloe Moretz is locked down for the titular lead role and Julianne Moore is in negotiations to player her mother, but this recent news from Reddit might have some fans skeptical. Apparently, the CEO of MGM, Roger Birnbaum, spoke at a college campus recently and revealed that Carrie will have a "found footage" element to it.

The "found footage" trend has been big in Hollywood in recent years, especially in the horror genre. But like any trend, it seems to be overstaying its welcome. For every movie where it works, like Chronicle, there are plenty of others that ruin the technique. There is no telling how much of an impact the "found footage" element will have on this Stephen King adaptation, so we'll have to wait for a trailer to get a hint on how this will play out.
