Sadly, it might be a wrap for the East Village’s vegetarian diner Kate’s Joint, as it’s landed in the unforgiving hands of the Marshal. Owner Kate Halpern had attempted to raise money for back rent through an Indiegogo fundraiser, but it might be too late.
As of last week, the Indiegogo page had raised less than $5,000 of the $30,000 required to keep Kate’s alive. Without Kate’s Joint, the corner of Avenue B and 4th Street just won’t be the same.
