Remember that video where a guy made a Kinect hack adding vocal commands to Skyrim? Well it looks like we weren't the only ones who were impressed.

Bethesda announced today that a new patch coming later this month will add Kinect vocal integration. Bethesda has designed over 200 commands that players can use to take all the tedium of sorting through menus and the frustration of dealing with AI-controlled followers.

This is the second patch from Bethesda adding new features to Skyrim. The patch for version 1.5 of the game added killcams for long-range weapons and spells, along with new animations for melee weapons.

The features from both updates were made as part of the development team's internal Game Jam, the results of which Bethesda showed at GDC earlier this year.

The best part about integrating Kinect, in my mind, is the ability to assign vocal "hotkeys" to specific items or weapons, streamlining the process of changing equipment.

Most importantly, Kinect will recognize all of the dragon shouts, so you can finally yell "Fus Roh Dah" and something will actually happen! Just try not to wake your neighbors.
