The Hulk has had a long, hard journey to get respect on the big screen. In 2003, Ang Lee directed the character’s blockbuster debut in what turned out to be a psychological art house drama, as opposed to an action movie. It was an extremely divisive film that saw most fans disappointed by the movie's slow pace and heady themes. In 2008, Marvel Studios rebooted the franchise in The Incredible Hulk, which was the complete opposite of Lee’s interpretation. Unfortunately, it was a little too action-oriented, and some fans and critics complained that it wasn’t deep enough.

Now the Hulk is featured in The Avengers, and in a Forbes Magazine article, some Marvel executives are so pleased with how audiences have been responding to the character in the movie that the studio is eyeing a big screen Hulk revival in 2015. The magazine teased this bit during an interview with Paul Gitter, the president of consumer products in North America for Marvel.

This blockbuster movie spinoff in 2015 will be in conjunction with the Guillermo del Toro produced TV series that is in the works for next year. With the impending success of The Avengers, it seems like The Green Goliath has been given a new lease on life. Let’s just hope that Marvel hires the right people for the project because it looks like this will be the Hulk’s last chance.
