With Iron Man 3 hogging all of the spotlight recently, we finally have our first bit of Thor 2 news in quite a while. According to Variety, Mads Mikkelsen is in negotiations to play a villain in the God of Thunder's next big screen adventure. Mikkelsen is best known for his villainous role in Casino Royale and for starring in Nicholas Winding Refn's Viking drama, Valhalla Rising.
There is no word yet on who Mikkelsen will actually play, but there is little doubt that he would make a great Malekith, ruler of the Dark Elves. The article also states that Mikkelsen will share the villainy in this movie with Tom Hiddleston, who is set to return in a major way as Loki.
Thor 2 will be directed by Alan Taylor (Game of Thrones) and is set to hit theaters on November 15, 2013.
