We can't say this is particularly surprising, but: Pixar's Brave dominated the box office this weekend, taking in an impressive $66.7 million and making it the 13th Pixar film to debut at #1 in the box office - out of 13.
Amongst the other newcomer films, Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter opened to rather disappointing numbers, only taking in $16.5 million which is bad when you consider that it had a budget of $69 million. Additionally, Seeking a Friend For the End of the World wasn't making any friends - though only screened on about 1,625 screens, took in $3.8 million.
Madagascar 3 took the second spot in the box office, despite having been for about three weeks at this point. Can't get enough of that afro circus song, can you?
